Recognition of IGNOU Courses

There have been lot of queries about the recognition of courses offered by IGNOU. Here's some information that might help

"Central Government, as an Employer, had made its position clear in respect of academic qualifications; acquired through distance mode of education, for the purpose of employment under it, vide Gazette Notification No.44 dated March 1, 1995. A copy of this Gazette Notification is placed on the website.

It is clarified that the recognition of the qualification by Distance Education Council or All India Council for Teacher Education (AICTE) means the recognition of specific programme or degree and not merely the recognition or approval of the institution/university-offering programme through distance mode."

Note : The site does not say anything about the charges so, We are assuming that normal SMS charges applies.

Submission of Re-Registration and JUNE 2011 Exam Forms

All the Re-Registration and JUNE 2011 Exam Forms must be submitted before 31 March at respective regional centre's without late fine.

The assignments need to be submitted beforehand at the respective study centers, and the exam form has to be signed by the co-ordinator of the respective study center.
